Tuesday Top T/The Saga Continues

Lotion.  I'm not even kidding you.  I finally (over a few weeks) gathered all the necessary supplies to make my own lotion from this recipe.

All you need, really (unless you want to add more), are three ingredients:

Cold Water
Beeswax
Oil (Olive, Grapeseed, Avocado, Coconut, the list goes on)

I added Peppermint extract to mine.  Pauler helped me with the emulsification part and as soon as he started pouring in the melted beeswax/oil mixture into the cold water that was being blended his jaw dropped.  It actually was turning into lotion, or moisturizer, or whatever you want to call it.

and I quote "Wow, I am so unimpressed with lotion companies now... this is like the simplest thing ever"

Right now, it's still in the experimental process. I've been using it on my face and hands for the past few days.  We'll see how we like it in a while. So far it's two thumbs up.

So the Bus Ride Saga.  Continued.

Where were we?  Oh yeah, we had finally made it to Omaha, NE.  By this time the hours were all melting together, I no longer knew what day it was or how much longer it would be till we got there.  Okay so maybe that's a tad melodramatic, but that's kind of how it felt.

All I knew was that the bus trip to our final destination took a total of 40 hours or something ridiculous like that. One Way.  Remember that after our little vacation, we would have to do it all over again.

I don't remember anything cool or exciting about Omaha, other than that I hate Nebraska because there is nothing but corn and straight road. And if that doesn't make you go crazy, I don't know what will.
The Rules.
Next Stop: Galesburg, IA.  Here we had like a 4 or 6 hour layover till the next bus came.  Needless to say we had some down time where we could walk around, go pee in a real toilet, breathe fresh air, the works.  It was then that we had the brilliant idea to go clean up in our respective bathrooms.  One of us stayed to watch our goods while the other went to go clean up.  I snagged some soap, and I actually used hand soap to wash my hair.

If I could explain to you how disgusting I felt, that there was any kind of soap in the bathroom was an incredible blessing.  I took my shirt off, I was wearing a tank top underneath, bent my head into the sink got my hair wet and proceeded to wash it with copious amounts of hand soap.  I then washed my armpits and my face, all the while talking to a nice lady who looked at me with pity and an eye of "I totally know how you feel, because I've totally done that before."

It was oddly comforting that she knew how I felt.  And it felt sooo good to finally be able to wash my face and not smell as much like B.O. anymore.  I think by now we had been traveling for about a day and a half (this was the first chance we got to clean up).

For the record, hand soap doesn't make very good shampoo, but it will do if it's all you've got.  And so, it was my turn to wait for Pauler to get back from cleaning himself up.  He washed his hair and shaved so he would presentable when we finally got to my parents.

I'm not sure how presentable you can be when you've been traveling on a bus for two days.
There were some arcade games with rules posted on them.  The first set of rules: 1-6 were exactly the same as rules 7-12.

Rule Number 12: All rules that apply when you are on the motorcoach will also apply.
This means to me, no smoking while playing this arcade game.  Why would you try to smoke while playing an arcade game?  You would end up dropping it into the machine or burning your face.

Anyway.  We became super bored and so we decided to see what and how many things we could get to balance on each other without falling over.  This was a really hilarious game.  Good thing Pauler and I are so easily entertained.
