Essentially, in America, we uphold Freedom of Religion to the highest degree. For freedom to abound in this country we have to uphold the idea that all people are allowed to worship, think, and speak whatever they need to (peacefully) in order for this country to thrive. As soon as ANYONE's basic freedoms are challenged then we take a stand and it's always in favor of our fundamental rights.
In other countries we hold the same values, although not all governments hold those same values for their citizens.
