Tonight I have a(n) (possibly) infinitely long opera rehearsal. In which I am a member of the "orchestra ditch."
We (and by we I mean the music department) are performing The Mikado Opera. It's basically a commentary on English politics set in Japan, with really cheezy Euro-Japanese type early 20th century music. (correction: Late 19th century... Arthur Sullivan (of Gilbert and Sullivan) died in 1900)
I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. Mostly I just hope we get complimentary tickets, and I hope I don't have to perform on a Thursday night so Hummer and I can actually enjoy a performance together. Which hasn't really happened since...well basically never.
Anyway. Enjoy your night, I'll try to enjoy mine.
